Effective July 1, 2021 the BC Ministry of Health has moved into Phase 3 of the recovery process. Under guidance from WorkSafeBC, we are now using communicable disease prevention.
Wearing masks indoors is now optional for those who have been fully vaccinated, fourteen days after their second shot. Non vaccinated persons are still required to wear a mask, although it is still optional for children.

However since there have been several cases of fully vaccinated people testing positive for COVID, and the indeterminate potential risk of the Delta variant, I will continue to follow the previous protocol of having patients wear a mask while in my clinic. A non-contact temperature test and thorough hand washing continue to be requirements prior to every treatment.
Effective July 15, 2021, my rates will be increased slightly to offset the rising operating costs so I can continue to provide you, my valued patients, with the best possible care. Thank you for your continued support.
Updated August 15, 2021
The past couple of years of living with the pandemic have been a literal roller coaster ride. It is unfortunate that mixed in with legitimate scientific information, there have been many unsubstantiated conspiracy theories. The latter situation has been complicated by the nova category of the COVID 19 virus. As the scientists have learned more about the virus, they have updated their information on the pandemic and that has led to a certain degree of confusion and mistrust.
Viruses will develop variants, think of the annual flu variants. This is a scientific fact and how a virus strain can survive. Hence the Delta variant has risen to recent prominence. The latest statistics show an average of 383 cases per day in British Columbia, and two thirds of the cases are the Delta variant. Of those affected 34.0% have contracted the virus from local exposure.
As a medical professional, I support an individual’s right to choose. I also realize that there are legitimate reasons a small percentile of the population can not be inoculated. My major concern is the safety of my patients, my family, and my personal safety. I have had both my “shots” and I’m aware that does not provide 100% protection.
Statistically the fully vaccinated population are at less risk although they can still be asymptomatic spreaders. For these reasons, until further notice, I have made the decision to not accept any patients in my clinic that have not been vaccinated effective September 1, 2021. Thank you for your understanding. We will get through this pandemic – we just need to be vigilant. Wear a mask, maintain social distance, wash your hands, and get your vaccine.
Protocols as of September 1, 2021:
- Proof of having first and second COVID 19 vaccinations.
- Each patient will need to sign a health declaration before the start of their treatment stating that they are in good health, symptom free and to the best of their knowledge have not been exposed to COVID-19.
- Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 will not be accepted for treatment unless they are fully recovered and have all – clear medical certification.
- You will have your temperature taken by a non contact method on entry.
- Patients will be scheduled one at a time with sufficient breaks between bookings to allow proper clinic cleaning. If booking online, please leave a fifteen-minute space.
- Family members who have been isolating as a unit will need to wait in their vehicle for each other unless given permission to come into the clinic.
- Online bookings are preferred and prepayment is required with PayPal or by an e-transfer to hardman.wellness@telus.net. This will be safer for everyone. Your receipts will be emailed to you.
- If you are not feeling well, stay home. Call me and reschedule. There will be no late cancellation fees.
- Upon arrival at the clinic you will call or text me at 604.524.6855 to receive permission to enter.
I will meet you at the side gate with a disposable medical mask and escort you to the hand washing sink. Do your best to arrive about five minutes before your treatment time. - Your own personal mask, if you have one, will not be allowed in the treatment area.
- There will be a $5.00 PPE surcharge with each treatment included in your fee.
The pandemic is an evolving situation. These guidelines are subject to change on short notice as safety requirements dictate. Thank you for your cooperation and I look forward to seeing you soon.
Good health,
Dr. Bill
