NEWS FLASH: I am in the process of changing my online booking system to janeapp.com. My decision was made because it is more user friendly. Those of you who were registered on my old system have already been uploaded to the new system. It hasn’t been a seamless adventure so my apologies for any inconvenience it may have caused. If you have any problems, they can be quickly resolved by giving me a call at 604-524-6855.
One of the many benefits is that you will soon be able to pay via encrypted credit card or debit. Of course, my other methods of payment will still be available (e-transfer, cash, cheque, and PayPal). To book an appointment at your convenience or register online: www.hardmanacupunctureclinic.janeapp.com
At the very least we could file this late summer weather under “unusual”. Temperatures should be falling along with the leaves! Who ever thought we could still have a fire risk on the “wet-coast” in October? Also, it is so very sad to see the salmon experiencing a lack of water to reach their spawning destination! Yet another aspect of our food chain being jeopardized by climate change.
A shout out to East Ridge Farms in Maple Ridge where we were able to purchase our ten lb winter supply of garlic (pictured). This beneficial herb has the well-deserved nickname of Russian Penicillin for its many health attributes. Aah, a future article in waiting! With COVID variants still lurking, it will be given an intense test over the coming winter.
Although I may sound pessimistic, there is an excellent chance that we are going to experience yet another wave of COVID in the coming months. Practice all the basic precautions to support your vaccinations and that will help reduce your risk. A good friend of mine with a healthy natural immune system told me that he got exposed to COVID from an asymptomatic individual by walking through the room that the person, who had just returned from a business trip to California, was occupying. Two days later he was positive, as was the asymptomatic person!! The “carrier” had tested negative at the airport on arrival.
If you are unfortunate enough to experience COVID or another viral based illness, you need to keep in mind that a virus multiplies or propagates in your colon. You can discourage this natural action by doing a colon cleanse. Yes, you will need to stay close to home, which you should be doing anyway if you are sick. There are many options available, and if you contact me (via my “the doctor is in” link on my web site), and I’ll provide some clinically proven methods. www.hardmanacupuncture-tcm.com.
In my clinic I’m still following the pandemic protocols as a precaution to reduce any risk to my patients or myself. I’m a firm believer in the old idiom “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!”
Remember, acupuncture is both remedial as well as preventative. Enhance your natural immunity along with nutritional advice on staying healthy by booking an appointment. Good choices can contribute to your good health.
Good health,
Dr. Bill
